My good Friend John Suhr (Founder of Suhr Guitars) and Staff build some of best Guitars and amplifiers in todays market...
Suhr Guitars is a complete facility. We design a hand-built feel into designs produced with modern technology. We cut our own necks, bodies and pickguards on our state-of-the-art CNC (Computer Numeric Control) routers. Each guitar is detailed prior to paint and assembly. This allows us complete control over quality and consistency of our guitars. These are truly hand-built guitars, each assembled by one builder. We wind our pickups on a computerized winder that allows us to program a consistent "hand-wound" pickup, using a balance of old world tone and modern technology.
1991 John design and manufacture the 3+ preamp and the OD-100 amplifiers. The OD-100 and the 3+ (later the 3+SE) soon became a standard in the LA studio scene, embraced by top-flight players such as Mike Landau and Steve Lukather as well as many others. John also did extensive amp modification and repair work for various great players such as Eddie Van Halen. John Suhr recent amps are: Badger 18 Amps,Badger 30 Amps, and Handwired Amps.

I have had the good fortune to meet legendary luither Bob Benedetto here in Nashville,TN, Namm shows. I also had the honor to play the stratovarius of archtop guitars. To this day I'm spoiled by the tone that Bendetto guitars produce. Bob Bendetto is also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He takes time out for everyone and treats them like star players. Below is some history on legendary luither Bob Benedetto.
Robert Benedetto is widely acknowledged as today's foremost maker of archtop guitars. Over a prolific four-decade career, he has personally handcrafted nearly 800 instruments, including 500 archtops.
Robert Benedetto was born October 22, 1946 in the Bronx, New York, into a family of artists, cabinet makers and musicians. He made his first archtop guitar in 1968 which consisted of European cello woods for the top and back from H.L Wild. One of John D'Angelico's old sources. For a neck he used his families old well seasoned 30 yr old maple kitchen table which his father approved.
Robert Benedetto's reputation grew as he crafted guitars for legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, Chuck Wayne, Joe Diorio and Cal Collins, and, later, Johnny Smith, Jack Wilkins, Ron Eschete, Martin Taylor, Howard Alden, John Pizzarelli, Andy Summers, Jimmy Bruno and Kenny Burrell (collectively known as “The Benedetto Players”). His guitars appear on countless recordings, TV & film soundtracks, in videos, books, magazines, museums (including the Smithsonian Institution) and concerts worldwide.
In 2006, Benedetto joined forces with Howard Paul to bring Benedetto Guitars to the next level, manufacturing a broad line of more affordable professional instruments without compromising the unparalleled Benedetto worldwide reputation for singular quality. The company, to be located in Savannah, Georgia, will play a part in both the business and cultural communities.

When I started to get into Electronics, Guitar Rack gear, Effects and Pedals. I wanted to service my own gear and program my own tones that I heard in my head. By talking to a number of guitarist, audio and digital Guru's, they all told me about Craig Anderton and his excellent books he has published. If you want to get into this type of thing Craig Anderton books are excellent!
Craig Anderton began his recording career as a teen-ager in 1967 with the Philadelphia-based group “Mandrake Memorial” – the same year his professional writing career got started by being published in Popular Electronics magazine. Working with producer/engineers such as Tony Bongiovi (who engineered for Jimi Hendrix and co-owned New York’s legendary Power Station studio), Brooks Arthur (Neil Diamond), and Shel Talmy (Kinks, Who), Craig learned much about recording while composing songs for, and playing guitar and/or synthesizer on, all three Mandrake albums.
Craig invested some money he made with Mandrake into setting up an electronics lab, which paid many dividends. He was one of the first musicians to use synthesizers on stage, having built his first synth in 1968 and a second, more advanced version in 1969. During that same year he also developed several types of electronic drum sets, capped by the invention of a semi-programmable, all-electronic drum machine in 1970.
After moving to California in the mid-70s, Craig concentrated on building Microsound (a private studio/laboratory) and perfecting a variety of innovative recording techniques and electronic devices. One of these techniques, “synchro-sonic recording,” was presented in a paper to the Audio Engineering Society and forecast the rise of rhythmically-synchronized dance music, as well as anticipated the technology used to make it possible. Several of his designs have shown up in products from TASCAM, Peavey, PAiA, Steinberg, Kurzweil, and other manufacturers; they’ve been used by bands such as Boston, the Motels, Heart, Van Halen, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and individual artists like synth wizard (and ex-Peter Gabriel keyboard player) Larry Fast.
From 1995 to 1998, Craig started and maintained the Sound, Studio, and Stage site on AOL (America OnLine). Its combination of forums and instructional materials made it one of the first commercially successful online sites for musicians. In 2000, the SSS forums moved to the web as part of MusicPlayer.com, a division of United Entertainment Media (the same group that publishes Guitar Player, EQ, Keyboard, and several other magazines).

I talked with Ted Weber and have e-mailed him many times when I was searching for Speakers. Ted was a very cool person and full of insight on the tones I was after. Ted came up with a formula that would become a huge part of my signature tone. We started with Chicago 60w 12's and Thame 60w 12's. From there Ted added his Magic to the Voice coils, Cones and whatever else that was needed. The end result was Magic! I use a combo of the Weber Chicago's and Thames, which I call Customs in my Marshall 4X12 Cabs, 2 Thames in my 2x12 Addrock Cab and a combo of Chicago and Thame in my Vincenzo 2X12 Cab.
The tune Move On you hear on my music link is all Ted Weber Speakers and cabs above through my Bogner XTC 101b. I have used Ted Weber Speakers for a very long time and won't change anything.
RIP Ted and thanks so much for the ear candy!

Larry Coryell is one of the world's acknowledged guitar masters. He has recorded more than 75 albums over the past 40 years as a bandleader, soloist and 'featured accompanist'. Hailed by his legion of fans as one of "the guitar gods" in the late 1970s and as a "truly Renaissance musician who excels at all styles of playing", he has also been christened as "a true pioneer of rock-jazz fusion" by the New York Times, and dubbed "the Godfather of Fusion" by Dan Ouellette of Down Beat Magazine.
After developing the first incarnation of his virtuoso technique Larry played his "first big time job" with Killer Joe Piro. National recognition then came during his tenure with the Gary Burton Quartet in 1967. The late 60s thru early 70s saw Larry as one of the most in-demand guitarists in Rock, Jazz and all musical genres.
During that time Larry was part of Rock's experimentation, and toured with Jack Bruce, and was featured in sessions with Jimmy Webb, the 5th Dimension, Charles Mingus, Billy Cobham, Chick Corea and John McLaughlin. In 1974 Larry formed The 11th House , the most popular and successful Fusion band of its time, which included his friend and colleague Randy Brecker. After The 11th House disbanded, Larry was signed by Clive Davis for Arista Records, where he made a series of solo albums, followed by a direct-to-disc recording with the Brecker Brothers.
The most recent recordings Larry has done are available on Chesky Records (âImpressionsâ, âTrafficâ & âElectricâ), Rhombus Records (âLaid Back & Bluesâ ), HighNote ("Cedars Of Avalon"), and Favored Nations("Tricycles") . For more about Larry, Clips of his CD's and Video's.
