Galina Vale is another one of my favorite guitarist. She plays with amazing feel, heart and fire on the Classical and Spanish guitar! Here is more about master guitarist Galina Vale.
Guitarist Galina Vale was born in the Ukraine and comes from a family of musicians.
She began studying the guitar and made her first public appearance on state television at the age of eight, from twelve she was performing major guitar concertos with the Kharkov Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
From the age of 15 she was employed as a principal guitarist with the Kharkov State Philharmonia and and started her career as a concert performer. Graduated from Moscow State Gnesins Music College and undertook a professional performance course at Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, UK).
Galina has won prizes at international guitar and music competitions in Poland, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom, and has performed over 2000 concerts across west and eastern Europe, USA, central America, Africa and Asia .
Her recitals include very technically works, such as the arrangement by Japanese virtuoso guitarist Kazuhito Yamashita of "The Bogatyr Gate of Kiev" (from "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky), considered "impossible for guitar" (Goniezc Pomorsky) and Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody no.2" alongside her own arrangements of works like Rachmaninov's "Prelude no.5 in G-minor" and "Hungarian Dance no.5" by Brahms…
Her repertoire has ranged from 'orthodox' classical guitar (Sor, Mertz, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos), music from the renaissance and baroque (Galilei, Bach, Dowland, Scarlatti) through arrangements of classical instrumental, orchestral works and opera (Liszt, Paganini, Sarasate, de Falla, Gimenez, Bizet, Rossini...) the modern guitar (Walton, Dyens, Rak...), flamenco (Escudero, Sabicas, Paco de Lucia...), arrangements of South American and East European folk music (Cardoso, Ramirez, Tirao, Shevchenko...), to jazz and fusion genres.

John Williams is best known as a classical guitarist, but has explored many different musical traditions. He has collaborated with Julian Bream and Paco Peña and was a member of the fusion group Sky. He is also a composer and arranger.
John Williams has commissioned guitar concertos from composers such as Stephen Dodgson, André Previn, Patrick Gowers, Richard Harvey and Steve Gray. He has also worked with composers from his native Australia, including Phillip Houghton, Peter Sculthorpe, Ross Edwards and Nigel Westlake, to produce guitar works that capture the spirit of his homeland.
John Williams recorded "Cavatina" by Stanley Myers. The piece had originally been written for piano but at Williams' invitation, it was re-written for guitar and was expanded by Myers. After this transformation, it was used for a film, The Walking Stick (1970). In 1973, Cleo Laine wrote lyrics and recorded it as the song "She Was Beautiful" accompanied by John Williams. The guitar version became a worldwide hit single when it was used as the theme tune to the Oscar-winning film The Deer Hunter (1979).

Having to study some classical guitar in my college days, I went searching for a classical guitarist that would inspire me. Sense I'm not a classic guitar player by any means this was a hard road. I was so much into the Rock,Blues,Jazz, and Fusion thing that the only classical guitar players I listened to were Steve Morse and Steve Howe. A master classical player would have to have excellent touch, tone and Compositions. I hit upon guitar Legend Christopher Parkening. He was everything I was looking for in master classical guitarist. Below is some history.
Christopher Parkening is celebrated as one of the world’s preeminent virtuosos of the classical guitar. For more than a quarter century, his concerts and recordings have received the highest worldwide acclaim. Parkening is recognized as heir to the legacy of the great Spanish guitarist Andrés Segovia, who proclaimed that “Christopher Parkening is a great artist – he is one of the most brilliant guitarists in the world".
Christopher Parkening has performed at the White House, appeared with Placido Domingo on Live from Lincoln Center, participated in Carnegie Hall’s 100th Anniversary celebration and performed twice on the internationally televised Grammy® Awards. Parkening has appeared on many nationally broadcast television programs, including The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, The Today Show and 20/20. He has collaborated with composers John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and premiered their new concert works in a effort to keep the guitar in the musical forefront..
Christopher Parkening is the recipient of two Grammy® nominations in the category of Best Classical Recording for Parkening and the Guitar and The Pleasures of Their Company, a collaboration with soprano Kathleen Battle. Parkening has received commendations honoring his dedication and artistry, including an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Montana State University and the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Southern California “in recognition of his outstanding international achievement and in tribute to his stature throughout the world as America’s preeminent virtuoso of the classical guitar.”
In addition, Parkening was given the acclaimed American Academy of Achievementfor excellence in the field of music both nationally and internationally. Parkening was also presented with the 2000 Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award for Best Classical Guitarist. Recently, Parkening received the University Musical Society’s “Distinguished Artist Award” for 2003 presented at the Ford Honors Program at the University of Michigan.

One of contemporary jazz’s most dynamic and in-demand guitarists, Chris Standring....
Chris Standring’s 2006 album Soul Express featured the hit radio single “I Can’t Help Myself” helmed by Grammy winning guitarist/producer Paul Brown and led to two successful summer tours in 2006/2007. Love & Paragraphs also marks an important milestone in the entrepreneurial-minded Standring’s career—it’s the debut release on his newly formed indie label Ultimate Vibe, which he is hoping to develop into a label for niche compilations in the chill lounge arena and beyond.
When Chris is not touring or recording new music, he is finding exciting ways to give back to young musicians who can benefit from his guitar and industry expertise. In the early 2000s, he founded A&R Online (aandronline.com), a place for aspiring musicians to get their music heard and to learn about the industry.
